Thanks to a grant from First Things First, a new series of programs for the family can help. They will be informative and fun for you and your child, and you’ll gets lots of free stuff like helpful books and toys. Select when, where and a time that works best for you and your child. You'll be Knowing & Growing together!

Books Can….©

Books Can…© is a unique program that uses popular picture books to promote children’s social and emotional development and to address challenging behaviors.



Brain Time for Babies and Toddlers

Brain Time for Babies and Toddlers
Babies: (ages 0-18 mos / limit 10 children / 40 min / 3-week series)
Toddlers: (ages 18-36 mos / limit 15 children / 40 min / 3-week series)

A special course that emphasizes child/parent interaction and reinforces early literacy skills, encourages brain development, & prepares a baby’s brain for success in school. Brain Time incorporates one-to-one parent/child interaction around books and toys in an age-focused program that is infused with simple, understandable messages about the young brain.


Common Sense Parenting

Common Sense Parenting
(ages 0-5 / limit 35 adults / 90 min / 7-week series / children welcome)
Sometimes being a parent can be challenging! This practical course gives parents effective discipline skills and helps them be more positive with their young children. All families will receive a training binder and a set of skill cards.


Fun With Math & Science

Fun With Math & Science
(ages 2-5 / limit 20 children / 45 min / 6-week series)
In this fun and interactive course based on the Arizona Early Learning standards for Math and Science, you will learn easy ways to involve children in science and math activities.


Get Ready to Read

Get Ready to Read
(ages 0-5 / limit 20 children / 45 min / 6-week series)
Children get ready to read long before they enter school. Each session highlights an essential early literacy skill. All participants receive a book following each session to practice their newly learned skills at home!


Stay and Play

Stay and Play
(ages 0-5 / no limits / 60 min / 6-week series)
This 6-week series of play-based learning is for children up to 5 years old and their parents/caregivers. Each session will feature local resource professionals who address a variety of early childhood topics.
