Borrowing

A regular library card allows you to have up to 30 items at a time checked out. A visitor card allows you to have up to 10 physical items checked out.

Items, excluding New, Most Wanted and Video Games, check out for 3 weeks at a time. Up to 4 renewals are available for each item if there are no holds on the item.

You can have up to 15 items on hold at a time.

New items are designated in the adult collection by a New sticker.

Most Wanted items are designated in the adult collection by a sticker with their circulation period on them. Most Wanted items are not available for holds or for renewals.

Games including board games and video games, are limited to 5 games checked out at a time. Video Games cannot be renewed

Book Club to Go kits come with multiple copies of a title as well as a discussion guide. Find out more.

Items will automatically renew if there are no holds at the time they are due. They can be renewed up to four (4) times. You will be notified three (3) days before your due date which items were able to be renewed and which items need to be returned. You can check your account status and due dates online or contact the library at 480-312-READ for more information.

Checkouts of non-Scottsdale materials have different lending terms. Please visit the pages for Interlibrary Loan and MAX for more information.

A regular library card allows you access to a variety of digital services. Visitor cards are not eligible for digital checkouts.
