Discover, create and explore through our Library Makerspace. We will be offering a wide variety of services designed to help you bring your ideas to life.

3D Printing Service

Civic Center Library and Mustang Library offers a 3D printing service available for library cardholders interested in creating custom 3D printed items. Library cardholders can submit their projects through the 3D Print Request Form.

Basic Guidelines

  • Supported file types are .stl, .obj, .step, .3mf.
  • Filament color options are black, red and gray, and subject to availability. Only library owned filament will be used.
  • Only single-color printing is available.
  • The 3D printer model is Bambu Labs P1S.
  • Maximum print size is 225 x 225 x 225 mm.
  • Maximum print time is 6 hours.
  • This service is free through June 30, 2026.
  • Print requests will be completed within 10 business days.
  • Staff will contact you when prints are completed with pickup instructions.
  • Prints need to be picked up within 14 days of completion.
  • Patrons can request up to 3 prints per month.
  • Patrons will need to submit their own design files. The library will not create or design any files.
  • A valid Scottsdale Public Library card is required to use this service. You can apply for one!

Any 3D items can be printed except those prohibited by local, state or federal law, any items that are deemed unsafe, harmful, dangerous poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others or that is otherwise inappropriate for a library environment, in violation of another’s intellectual property, or exceeds the library’s size and time limitations. Scottsdale Public Library reserves the right to refuse any 3D printing request. View the complete 3D Printer policy.
