We'll see your family at the library

The library is a terrific place for all ages this summer. As a teenager I can remember some of the best books that I ever read were those that I tackled during the long hot days of July. In fact, I can remember the year I read To Kill a Mockingbird – what a great book. The library has many wonderful items that are sure to create some good memories for your family – we hope to see you soon.

The newspaper mentioned that there are some folks that still don't believe that we landed on the moon? Hmmm...

It has been 40 years since we took that "one small step…" so bring the kids or grandkids to a celebration of this historic milestone. Games and astronomical fun for ages 8 and up.

Did you know?

As a cardholder you can check out up to 30 items from our library. Books, movies or music! And if you are wating for a particular item--you can place up to five selections on hold.

What's really cool is that we contact you when your request is available for you to pick up!

Oh Behave!

We do know how popular those fabulous Culture Passes have been with everyone. To make your life
a bit easier when checking out a culture pass we have the following suggestions…

1. Check when the pass will be available online. (they are available the day after they are due)

2. Be Patient. There are a finite number of passes. Just like our books.

3. Be kind to your neighbor. We ask that you refrain from plowing through the front door and running over other customers. Yes, this has happened (not using names). Remember this is a Culture Pass…

4. Thank the museum. They are donating all of the admissions for this program. (Or, perhaps buy a gift in their shop or a snack at their café…I would not hug the art however.)

Big print books are now cool

Boomer? We know you wish to be hip in your best years...

Well if that itsy bitsy font is a bit irritating for you – check out one of our books with large type. They are great to read while on the treadmill too – and at hit with people who work out frequently (so you can even say you are reading large type because you like the gym...) And if you don't feel like reading--we have a bunch of books on CD too.

Tome Trade Extravaganza

For the grand finale of the Scottsdale Adult Summer Reading Program -- we are having a book swap. Bring your books that you read this summer on vacation and swap them out for some fresh volumes. It is a great way to be green.
