What accessibility services do you offer?

Large Print Books

These easy-on-the-eye books are available for both adults and children. Choose from classics, bestsellers, westerns, mysteries, romances, and non-fiction. Look for them at each of our libraries.

Large Print Books by Mail
Residents of Maricopa County with visual impairments may receive three books per month. This program is free to users. Call 480-312-2530 for an application.

Talking Book Machines
The Scottsdale Public Library System in agreement with the Arizona State Braille and Talking Book Library provides information, applications and replacement equipment for residents of Scottsdale who qualify for this service. For more information, call (602) 255-5578.

Home Delivery Service
The Home Delivery Service is offered to any Scottsdale resident who meets the following criteria:
  • Physically unable to go to the Library to check-out books.
  • Living alone and unable to drive or living in a non-driving household.
  • Confined to your home for a minimum of 4 months.

The materials you receive are selected based on your areas of interest and delivered to your home every four weeks.For more information or to sign up for this free program please contact 480-312-6016.

Sun Sounds
Sun Sounds, a radio receiver for the reading impaired, is available at the Mustang Library.  Sun Sounds is a service of Rio Salado Community College and the Maricopa County Community Colleges.  Staff and volunteers read newspapers, magazines, and educational information to people who cannot read print due to a disability.  Ask at Mustang's Information Desk for the headphones and a programming schedule.  For more information call 480-312-READ(7323).

Sign Language Interpreters
Available for all library programs upon request.  Please call 480-312-READ(7323) fourteen days in advance to make arrangements.

  • Optelec print enlargers at Civic Center and Mustang. 
  • Magnifying glasses at our Information desks.
