The Scottsdale Public Library is part of the Greater Phoenix Digital Library, which provides eBooks, eAudiobooks, music, and video available for downloading into a PC, PDA or MP3 player. Using an iPod? The easiest way to find iPod compatible downloadables is to go directly to the Greater Phoenix Digital Library website. Once you're there, click on the "Browse Audio Books" link on the left side of the page. Hold your mouse over that link and a menu will pop up. Choose "View all MP3 Audiobooks." These are the ones that are compatible with iPods. If you know exactly what you want, put your search term in the search box at the top of the page and change the "limit by media type" dropdown to "Overdrive MP3 Audio books."
Attention MAC users: The Digital Library just rolled out the free OverDrive Media Console (OMC) for Macs. What this means is that our Mac customers now have access to the MP3 audiobooks that we have in the Greater Phoenix Digital Library. All customers need to do is download the new OMC for Mac to their computer. Items that are downloadable to a Mac will have a small Mac Icon highlighted in the item record. To find the link for downloading the free OMC, please click on the OverDrive Media Console 3.0 icon on the left hand side of the GPDL homepage. Click on the Download OverDrive Media Console and then select either the version for Mac or the version for Windows.
